"We've come here nearly every day during our stay in Tauranga, sampling quite a few lunch, dinner and dim sum dishes. Without exception, they were all authentic and very tasty. We're from NYC, and Eastern Ocean would definitely be able to hold its own in New York's Chinatown. That's high praise, indeed. The service is great - the owner is exceptionally friendly, and seems to know all her regulars by name. We've tried a number of other Chinese restaurants in Tauranga, and this is definitely the place to come for an authentic Chinese dining experience.

"1st time at eastern ocean and absolutely loved it. The food was great. The lunch menu was great. Had some pork dumplings and pork and coriander dumplings, spicy pork and rice and spicy chicken and rice. Everything was amazing. Service too was great, quick and friendly staff.

"We enjoyed our food. Although its a little bit pricey.We ordered set B,35 dollars/person. Includes siomai,fried rice,fried chicken,lemon chicken,stirfried veggies,veggie spring roll,duck. instead of fruit salad they gave us egg tarts, no explanations. we assumed that they're out of fruit salad. Drink needs to be ordered separately from the set menu. Great for big families.
